byf41 Posted August 22, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2014 Just picked this up at an estate sale for next to nothing . No Idea what its for but it has a religious/military look to it . At first glance I thought it looked kinda cheezy but the more I stare at it the nicer the detail work looks . Maybe an Ivory grip ? Any Idea what the significance is ? I was thinking maybe British but it was clearly made in Kalamazoo Michigan with a German mfg. blade . Thanks guys .

Bob Hudson Posted August 22, 2014 Share #14 Posted August 22, 2014 It's a Masonic Knights Templar sword.
Bob Hudson Posted August 22, 2014 Share #15 Posted August 22, 2014 It's made by Henderson Ames and probably worth $150-200.
Bob Hudson Posted August 22, 2014 Share #16 Posted August 22, 2014 The grip is ivory white celluloid (French Ivory) and you can read more about these at http://blog.templarhistory.com/2010/04/masonic-knight-templar-swords/ This would have been made between 1893 and 1923. automatic Posted August 22, 2014 Share #17 Posted August 22, 2014 Very nice find! I have been wanting a sword for a while, but I am not looking to spend much at all. There is an 1880's German sword at a local shop for $200, when that gets lower I'm swooping in to get it, granted it still there
