bootsandbooks Posted August 22, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2014 Not sure if this is the appropriate forum but since I just posted another USS Indianapolis item - mods feel fee to move. I habitually visit old cemeteries in my travels, primarily those established in the 19th century, but many are still active. Invariably I am drawn to the military headstones and markers which I usually photograph. Spotted this one yesterday and have since determined Mr Griffith joined the Navy in 1940 and was the recipient of 11 battle stars. He was one of 10 survivors from Texas.
