seanmc1114 Posted August 20, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 20, 2014 I have thoroughly enjoyed both viewing and contributing to the Patches In Action thread teamski started a few years back: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/77202-patches-in-action-photos-of-ssi-being-worn-by-the-troops/ Along the same line, I think it would be neat to do a similar topic showing the use of shoulder sleeve insignia on signs, buildings, vehicles, etc. I'm sure the possibilities are endless and I have seen some very creative examples in pictures over the years. Here are a few to start off. First up is the sign for the Headquarters of the Strategic Army Corps, probably from the early 60s, utilizing the SSI of the XVIII Airborne Corps, 1st Infantry Division, 4th Infantry Division, 82nd Airborne Division and 101st Airborne Division. seanmc1114 Posted August 20, 2014 Author Share #2 Posted August 20, 2014 Mike Company 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. Based on the soldier wearing the National Defense Service ribbon, I'm guessing this would be at the tail end of the Regiment's 1957 to 1964 deployment to Germany or else back in the U.S. before it deployed to Vietnam in 1966. As Mike Company was a tank company, note the use of the Armored Forces SSI as well.
