ever seen one of these? wonder if they have a pouch for bolts, nuts, screws, washers, etc. LOL

Yes, this is the second one I have seen. The Government has/had a marked container for everything. :D

Wouldn't want anybody stealing a nail. All the markings sure make it easy to tell if it's something I want or not.

that is true, at least you know what pouch to grab depending on chores to be done around the house. ha ha

i saw some of  these a while back, or at least the ones i saw were used as horseshoe nail bags and were in a farrier saddlebag set, the set i saw was from the middle 20's ( wasn't able to buy the set as the guy wanted way to many $$$$$$$)

I think this one is 50's-70's era, the pull string looks like nylon or something. thanks

This is probably a correct ID.  I've seen these before and they were part of a specific kit so you didn't have to fumble around finding them.
