Utica, saved from the dump.

Recently helped a friend clean out his fathers estate. That included going through 60+ years of acquired "stuff" in the barn. Pulled

this out of the trailer (along with a brass compass that looks like a pocket watch) that was destined for the dump. It's rough, as you can

see but I do hope to do something with it, marked "Utica" on the guard.

Great little project; not much you can do that will hurt it, so go to town. I'm working on a Ka-bar that is a little better shape but not by much. I think your first effort should be to concentrate on the blade and get that reasonably fixed, then figure out what to do about the handle.

Appreciate the comments, this one may end up in the trade-box since I've never worked on knives. Hate to make it worse, especially if

somebody else can make better use of it, besides that, I have the carbine project about ready to go. Wish I had got to this a little sooner.
