DoubleEnvelopment Posted August 9, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 9, 2014 I was surprised to find these in a recent grouping I obtained. I thought it was really fantastic to find something this personal and it really amazed me to think he carried this through his WWII service. Has anyone else every found anything similar in their collecting experience?
Marksman Posted August 9, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 9, 2014 Very nice find! I love such personal things. A few month ago i found an four-leaved clover in an german Luftwaffe pay book. It was a nice and very personel Item. An the man had realy some luck - he survied one crash landing, one shotdown and a downfall from a hangar - all during WW2. Thanks for showing yours! DoubleEnvelopment Posted August 11, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted August 11, 2014 I figured there would be a lot of this type of stuff among bomber or submarine crewman...
Garandomatic Posted August 16, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 16, 2014 No doubt, but I bet a lot of it didn't survive the decades, had the story lost, or was separated from the military items because they still carried it. I don't think I have a single thing in my collection that I would attribute to being a charm, but a couple of my bomber crew uniforms had to be darn lucky.
