WGN's - Manhattan TV Series

Anyone catch the season premiere of Manhattan? The show is set against the backdrop of Los Alamos, New Mexico and the greatest clandestine operation/science project of WWII - the Manhattan Project. I will admit I was excited for the show from the trailers they would show prior to its premier. However, I will say I was disappointed in the lack of attention to detail when it came to the producers knowledge of Army ranks and uniforms. There is a scene where one of the scientist is angry with a military police man whose rank is SFC (sergeant first class) and the scientist addressed the soldier by his rank, but he is clearly talking to the guy in the private's uniform. Also there is a scene with an Army Colonel Col Cox) played by actor Mark Moss who is wearing a ribbon rack that has the wrong era of awards on it such as: The WWII Occupation of Germany and Japan Ribbon, as well as ribbons from the Korean War (National Defense Service Ribbon, Korean War Service and UN Service). This oversight has turned me off to the show.

I noticed that too. I've spend some time talking with them about technical accuracy. Despite that they could still use some guidance. I will be talking to them soon to advise them about these and other things.

FWIW, I spoke to the costumer and they will NOT be repeating the same mistake about the innacuracy of the ribbons if they go to a second season. Can't speak about the first season as they blasted through filming a few short weeks.

I have enjoyed the series, but it could be much better. Seems somewhat rushed into production. Characters are decently cast. I miss the glass insulators that should be present on the electric lines.

They must've decided to go with the recommendations as the Colonel has had the inaccurate ribbons removed and now only has 4: LOM, American Defense, American Campagin and EAME.
