Patchcollector Posted July 26, 2014 Share #1 Posted July 26, 2014 Hi all, I found this photo and am wondering what is the insignia he is wearing? Thanks!
History Man Posted July 26, 2014 Share #2 Posted July 26, 2014 This is a shot in the dark....but maybe one of the USMC MP/patrolman badges that were made for Guam? I saw one in a group recently to a USMC officer who served as an MP on Guam, the badge he wore was specific to Guam (had a design on it for Guam) and looked similar in shape. Tough to really tell from the photo though. Philip
teufelhunde.ret Posted July 26, 2014 Share #3 Posted July 26, 2014 He was serving as a insular Marine patrolman on the island of Guam, at the time. I've seen these badges dating to the 20s, and these patrolmen listed earlier on muster rolls. I suspect they were not used after WW2. The badges are pricey when they come to auction...,
Bigdogakabu Posted December 18, 2017 Share #4 Posted December 18, 2017 Saw this badge on ebay and research brought me here. There wasnt a whole lot I could find about the insular patrol in google. This looks to be the same as in the ohotos best I can tell. From what I read there were 12 posts I think in the villages and towns in Guam that had Insular Patrol stations. This looks to be from #6.
