grovb Posted July 23, 2014 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2014 While usually pretty sure about engraving being official or unofficial. This I feel it is original but still have an unsure feeling so I thought I would ask. I really was not worried about it as I bought everything right just wanted to make sure. thanks, Brandyn
grovb Posted July 23, 2014 Author Share #2 Posted July 23, 2014 Know close up of engraving. I am leaning the it is official because of the fact all capital, first letter larger but that does not mean it is official either. thanks Brandyn

GIKyle Posted July 24, 2014 Share #16 Posted July 24, 2014 I would see if there are any award cards for him at St Louis; that may confirm/ deny the DFC/ Air Medal for you. Kyle
BEAST Posted January 27, 2020 Share #17 Posted January 27, 2020 I am the new caretaker of this group and have begun to research it further. According to a 1949 article in a local paper, White was awarded the DFC, Air Medal and Purple Heart. Also, he was originally commissioned into the Field Artillery which would explain the 76th FA DUI.
