He served for 11 years and served in Vietnam from 1967-68. What time period do these look? Also, have you ever seen someone stamp "BT" or blood type on the tag? Thanks! bellasilva Posted August 1, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 1, 2014 Hi, due to the notched tags and service number as opposed to social security number, these would be prior to 1970. As notched tags were phased out around 1960, I would imagine these tags were issued to this Marine very early in his service, within the first 2 years.
