crotalus358 Posted July 23, 2014 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2014 Here's what it looks like to me: "Dearest Sister. Love to all Jay Boy Hello sis is everybody well I hope. For myself never felt better in my life. Say have you stop writing. I haven't had a letter from you in a long time. How is that big boy getting along. I sure would like to see him. Has Herman gone to work for the rail road. Do you hear from herself often. Send me his address. How is Larry doing in school. I got a letter from Aunt Della (?) the other day. Say sister _ _ sure would look good to me. Well Sis I will close _ _. Love to all. Jay Boy" There were a couple of words that I couldn't make out due to fuzziness, but I think this gives you the jist. Hope that helps. mvmhm Posted July 24, 2014 Share #4 Posted July 24, 2014 " from herself often"..I think that's "Hersel"...maybe meant to be "Herschel", since it says "him" afterwards... Mark sends
crotalus358 Posted July 24, 2014 Share #5 Posted July 24, 2014 Agreed. It looks like it says "Hersel" (probably meaning Hershel). Thanks for picking up on that Mark - I was typing it out w fat thumbs and the damn autocorrect grabbed it. Steve
strawberry 9 Posted July 24, 2014 Share #6 Posted July 24, 2014 For some reason, my Wife can read this "style" of handwritting easily. I have her translate all of my letters.
