Marine Corps badge collection MP, Provost, Security

This is part of a privately-held collection that is displayed in various Provost Marshal and MP offices at Marine Corps bases. This badge collection is moving from Camp Pendleton to MCAS Miramar and I got a chance to photograph it while the collection's curator was doing some clean up work on the displays. Some of the badges were behind glass that could not easily be removed so there are reflections on those.

This badge collection has been cleaned up, cases refurbished and is now on display with other USMC MP artifacts at Marine Corps Police Academy West Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar in San Diego.

I think the badge I posted is from the 70s? The center seal has USMC and not DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY USMC.The letter is also pressed in.

Just found this forum after Googling "USMC MP badges" and found Bob Hudson's outstanding photos of Marine Corps MP/PM badges, etc. Thought I'd share my own badges here ... I was attached to the Base PMO at Camp LeJeune in 1966-67 and served as the Assistant Shore Patrol Chief. The plain-jane 'Supervisor' is a duplicate I had made of the one I was issued. Years later I had the more colorful Asst. SP Chief one made for my shadowbox display.

Here are photos of what I think was a prototype of the current-issue MP badge. It was made by Sun Badge (as shown on the backside photo.)
