During World War II, many magazine publishers would prominently feature the American flag on the July edition of their magazine covers. This would have made for an impressive patriotic display at the newsstand.

 

Here’s Walt Disney’s contribution – the Walt Disney’s Comics & Stories comic book cover for the July 1942 issue.

I like it a lot!

Reminds me of the old cartoons I used to see on TV when I was young.

Sadly they don't show them anymore.
