mp44 Posted June 30, 2014 Share #1 Posted June 30, 2014 95 degrees outside with 95% humidity so I'm digging through some stuff in the air conditioning. Here's one of my Dad's Jump Jackets. I used it for hunting throughout high school. Thought you might find the laundry marks interesting, also his stenciled name over the left pocket. Apparently, they were re-using these jackets. I have a group to a B Co 506th man.He was a replacement after D-Day and did Holland,The Bulge and into Germany. He was sent home early after an incident and most all of his clothing he had to use for the trip was all named to others. He got out of the hospital and stated the medics had stolen him blind and he had to beg and scrounge to get clothes. panzer224 Posted August 28, 2014 Share #19 Posted August 28, 2014 As a reenactor that portrays the 506th it is always amazing to see anything original to the unit. This jacket has a lot of character to it and I am happy to know it is in the families hands.
