TALLYHO Posted June 21, 2014 Share #1 Posted June 21, 2014 I`ve seen Case pig stickers before but this is the first Cattaraugus that I came across. Not finding any info on it. 6" blade,LOA of 10". Note the two pins in the handle are only visible on one side. Is it possible that this model was used as a fighting type knife during WW2? Any info would greatly appreciated. Charlie Flick Posted June 22, 2014 Share #2 Posted June 22, 2014 Tallyho: That is a nice blade. If it has a military connection it is likely to be an informal one, as in a private purchase knife. While it is well known that Cattaraugus Cutlery made knives for the US military I am not aware of any blades of this pattern having been purchased. The similarity of the design to the Case Pigsticker you mentioned is obvious, and not unusual given the close association between Cattaraugus and members of the Case family. TALLYHO Posted June 22, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted June 22, 2014 Thanks Charlie, I was contemplating selling it but changed my mind. As I said before, I just haven`t seen another one. Even though it lacks a double edge, it still has that no nonsense look that intrigues me.
