Doomula5000 Posted June 8, 2014 Share #8 Posted June 8, 2014 Just curious if the ribbons are original to the uniform? I love the PUC with the blue star! Nice uniform. Great research and a rare MOS anti-tank crewman. I've been trying to collect as many different MOS in 3rd MarDiv as I can. I have a cook, rifleman, cobbler, clerk, sanitation, rigger, watchmaker, intel, bazooka, tank crewman, artillery, camouflage, postal, machine gunner, signals, demolition etc. I believe every job was as important as the other. Bellumbill Posted February 21, 2015 Share #15 Posted February 21, 2015 Great uniform and what a discovery for you! Thanks for posting. So, inspired by you I took a new look at an old 3rd Marine Div. forest green jacket, garrison cap I have had for many years laying around in the storage facility. I discovered today that he was a light machine gunner with E/3/2 on Iwo! He was part of the 60th replacement draft that went to Guam sometime in mid July, 1944 so I assume he has some service there too. I see no indication that he was ever wounded. Suffice it to say I'll be sending away for his records asap. Sorry, I am not trying to hijack this thread just to show some appreciation for the posting which inspired me to take a look at something I had for a while. Very best, Bill K.
