Very nice knife in fact the best I have seen. It is hard to tell how dark the blueing is in the picture. They came fairly dark just a little lighter than a gun.. And it looks like the iron guard version, the real military one. There were a lot of the bright ones and one number I hears is 500 blued knives great find even has the care tag. I have never seen a care tag

Dennis aka nifman.

Very nice Fritz

Here are three of mine.

Two on the left are Marlbles.First is the Commercial one.The second came from outdoorsman Bob Allens estate.I was told it was given to him by one of the Marbles Company executives. The third is the Camillus production model..

Yours is really a super example.Cant say I have seen the dark finished scabbard before.I realy like the dark color.I wonder if its a early

production feature. The paper manual has to be rare.Never seen or heard of one.Original stone too.

Here are photos of some of my Marbles. The first photo is an original issue Marbles with the blue blade and the original cordovan sheath. The second photo is two bright blade Marbles that are nearly identical to the blue blade except for the blade finish. One blade has a satin finish, the other is shiny. The pommels, spacers and guards are blued steel like the original issue Marbles. I was told by a Marbles collector that these two bright blade Marbles were sold in the PX. They are totally different from the commercial Marbles Pilot Survival.

Here is a Marbles Mark 2 next to my issue Marbles Pilot Survival. The Mark 2 shares many similarities with the Pilot Survival. Both have the same pommel, the blades are blued and they have the same Marbles stamping. The Mark 2 has a 7 inch blue blade, brass guard with one hole on both ends of the guard and a smooth leather handle. The two knives have one big difference, the Mark 2 does not have the saw back blade. The back of the sheath is marked Sgt. Elston, 1049469, USMC. It is my opinion that the Mark 2 is a special order knife by Sgt. Elston. The Marbles Mark 2 is the same size as the issue Mark 2, but has many of the Marble Pilot Survival components.

Recently acquired this 1960's Marbles knife. I thought I would ask if you have ever seen a Parkerized finish 6" Marbles whether Civilian or Military with this finish? I had thought they were all either blued or Bright finish. I saw this old thread and thought I would ask the experts. The gray stone has a green label on the side as well. Thanks for any help.

It also has a brass guard. IMHO, I'm also not comfortable with the tang stamp, but I don't pretend to be up on the variations and their exact time periods either.
