lytec Posted April 30, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2014 Hello all Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask or a silly question.I have seen that some of the modern armor has removable plating etc and you can just buy the covers in different material.Did the Vietnam ones have the same where the armor can be removed?I would love one but to be honest it is almost impossible from my research to get them into Australia. I figured I could pad it out so it at least looks complete.
gunbunnyB/3/75FA Posted April 30, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 30, 2014 hi, while im not sure about all of the body armor used then, the two that i have had were both non-removable, one was army(dated 65) the other was a marine (dated 67).

The plates could be removed from the nylon felt carrier and worn by themselves with the load carrying suspenders. The vest could be worn without the hardplates for protection from fragmentation only.
