Johan Willaert Posted April 30, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 30, 2014 Feb 1944 TO&E for the 326th AEB lists 20 Jeeps... HQ Company: 13 A&B Co: 3 each = 6 Med Det: 1 C Co was the Parachute Company and at that time did not have any own Jeeps...

Johan Willaert Posted April 30, 2014 Share #6 Posted April 30, 2014 Bn CO Major MOZLEY (with cigar) in his Jeep in Holland...(from MDT's AB Helmet book) Sadly only driver's side marking is visible: HQ-
Johan Willaert Posted April 30, 2014 Share #7 Posted April 30, 2014 Next picture shows a Jeep from C Company, which by now (Feb 1945) may have been issued own Jeeps.. MDT's AB Helmet Book Obscured by GI on the left = 101AB-326E with C1on the right Note font and thickness of free-hand painted markings...
Johan Willaert Posted April 30, 2014 Share #8 Posted April 30, 2014 I would suggest Front bumper: 101AB-326E and HQ-2 Rear bumper left: 101AB over 326E with HQ over 2 on right rear bumper Large white hood numbers covering the factory blue ones Star without ring on both sides of Jeep and star with ring on hood... Hope this helps a bit, please post pictures of result... Cheers, Johan

ChrisNZ Posted April 30, 2014 Author Share #11 Posted April 30, 2014 Here's a gallery of the project so far, https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151528309853632.1073741831.620388631&type=1&l=3e5b2ae7f5 one of those projects that ended up being way more work than I expected. robinb Posted May 1, 2014 Share #12 Posted May 1, 2014 So each Company that was issued 5 handcarts was also issued 5 mine detectors. Seems logical since a boxed mine detector is fairly heavy.
ChrisNZ Posted May 1, 2014 Author Share #13 Posted May 1, 2014 Cool, I have both a handcart and a mine detector, I often display my mine collection hence the reason for wanting the 326th markings as it fits with my collection.
ChrisNZ Posted July 20, 2017 Author Share #14 Posted July 20, 2017 I ended up going with the USMC Themed jeep but as we do both PTO and ETO events and I had a second hood I picked up another bumper so I can swith it out based on event, using Johan's Suggestion here are the results.
