...I received a bunch of WWI medals from a coworker. In the bunch are two different sizes of "flaming bomb"s. They are bronze colored and the small one has
"US" in silver on it. I assume this is for work in "ordnance". What more can you tell me?

THe small one sound like a sweet heart piece or son in service type pin.

Some of these were even worn by soldiers on the overseas caps(unofficially). You will see the small crossed rifles for infantry with silver US,crossed cannons and I have even seen a Machine gun pin as well

I recall there being a topic on these before.

Could these be Marine Gunners insignia? Also note that the flaming bomb was and probobly is still used all over the world by armies to designate all sorts of things. Some photos of those we're discussing woul help a lot.

I dont recall any Marine insignia with just a US over layed on it.

Here is the WW1 era pin I am thinking of.They can in different sizes and in all branch configurations.Have seen them for Infantry,MG,CAV,Engineers,Tank Corps etc.THis one was on a cap I have.Im assuming the OP has one for Ordnance.

I Have a WW2 era small bomb with a US on it as well used as swetheart jewelry.
