Robswashashore Posted April 24, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 24, 2014 I recently purchased a 1930's screwback dui which the seller stated "had a slight film from storage but I will leave it to the buyer to clean it." Is it possible to clean it without damaging it? Thanks for any advice. Jean
1SG_1st_Cav Posted April 25, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 25, 2014 You could use Brasso to clean it, but it will tarnish after a period of time. I suggest leaving it alone. This unit traces it's lineage all the way back to 31 October 1836 in Boston as the "National Lancers." That DUI is for the 180th FA Regiment. The sample of this insignia was approved 8 February 1930. peterson45 Posted May 13, 2014 Share #3 Posted May 13, 2014 You could also try goo gone because it's not too aggressive and can be washed away with water at the end but I agree with Danny as unpleasing as the film is it's part of the piece an give it character.
