garanddaddy Posted March 22, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 22, 2014 I have a couple of shelter half's one is dated 1966 the other is marked 1979. While I do have guy rope for my WWII pup tents, and they are the three strain cotton rope measuring .25" OD X 79" long with a 5" loop at one end. Did the newer tents have the same guy rope or were they a different type? Thanks to all
RustyCanteen Posted March 23, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 23, 2014 As far as I know it never changed during that time.
Steve B. Posted March 29, 2014 Share #3 Posted March 29, 2014 I have used "modern" guy ropes on my WWII pup tents for years and no one has said anything. I do not know for sure, but I do not believe they changed. The ones I bought at the clothing sales store at Ft Lewis in the 90s were cotton or some other natural fiber. They do not seem to be nylon or any other synthetic fiber. Just my .02 worth!
