El Bibliotecario Posted March 21, 2014 Share #9 Posted March 21, 2014 This puts me in mind of the time Pvt Tentpeg, an M60 gunner, was asked by an officer how he chose a firing position. The soldier replied that his primary criterion was that it was directly behind a tree, "so you can jam the muzzle of the machine gun against the tree to keep the blank firing attachment from blowing off."
