MVCC show April 20-27, 2014
Posted 08 March 2014 - 12:22 PM
All units are invited to participate in the MVCC Living History Encampment at the Tower Park, Rio vista event from April 20 to 27, 2014. The camp will be set up near the pavilion with numerous GP Tents available to authentic WWII Era Reenactors. This open invitation is to all Living Historian Units or individuals and we would enjoy your participation.
The Tower Park in the MVCC event is the largest military vehicle show on the West Coast and also incorporates a huge swap meet. It is a fantastic place to show your wares and to recruit new members.
Several reenactment organizations are slated to be in attendance, including the HFA, RPS, West Coast USMC Raiders, the CHS, as well as MVCC members.
Space should be available for individuals or units that decide to attend. If you have a camping cot of the World War II era, then please bring it along with you. We do have extra cots but they are limited in number. This event will require a higher level of authenticity much like a World War II battle.
Please contact me to RSVP or you can just show up anytime. We are specifically looking for reenactors to house this encampment on April 25 and 26 in particular. Space is first come first serve so the earlier you or your unit shows up, the better your accommodations may be. You can set up a table just outside of the encampment to recruit for new members. Please feel free to call me with any inquiries.

I'll be there at the show selling WW2 field gear. I have a ton of it to offer.

There will be about 30 Reenactors at the site, with bulk arriving Friday/Saturday. Come see the Gunny if you have stuff to sell.

I am thinking about playing hookey from work one day this week. Is it still worth a trip out on a weekday?

The place has some regulars already there and it will start filling up fast on Wednesday.

When you come west on highway 12 from I5 the access to Tower Park will be on your right now. I believe its Tower Park Drive. It winds around and goes under the freeway to enter Tower Park. You use to have to make a left turn before but that way is blocked off now.

Looks like I'll be their Friday. I am hoping that the rain holds off or is the usual light drizzle and nothing more.
