This will be my first Show of Shows and to say I am looking foreward to going is an understatement. I am looking foreward to meeting lot of new faces as I don't really attend a lot of shows.

Just reserved a room by the airport for all 3 nights with priceline and got a great deal. Worth a look if you haven't made reservations.

Does anyone remember where the USMF badge is posted that we made a couple of years back? I can't find mine so I'll need to print a new one

Just booked the airline tickets and the hotel is squared away, this will be my 1st SOS.

Philip

Every military collector should try to make at least one pilgrimage to the SOS in their lifetime.  Make sure you bring plenty of money and be prepared to be overwhelmed by the size of the venue, the quantity and quality of items be sold  and the prices.

Looks like I can make either Thursday or Friday. Any recommendations? I haven't been there in many, many years.

The room's reserved and I'm ready to make that long trek from DFW to Louisville!  It feels fantastic to finally be making my first trip to the SOS!

Thanks for re-posting the USMF badge, History Man

My recommendation is to buy what you want when you first see it.  You will never be able to find it again after walking away.  Too many tables is a nice problem to have.

Sparty,

Now you need to get the USMF logo on the back...

Beast,

Thursday is only a half day if you are a member as dealer set up is in the morning. It is the best day to get out as the rarer items tend to get picked up fast. There are still plenty of finds on Friday as well and you get a full day. There will be dealers still arriving on Friday so there are still fresh finds to be had.

Four weeks from now the SoS doors will be open for dealer setup!!!!

Three weeks and 6 days before the zotig111, sgtdorango, and 1canpara pre-show helmet swap meet. Hopefully the other suspects will make it as well (USMCRecon, Bugme, Just-a-good-ole-boy, 37th guy, etc).

See you all there.

The only problem with the next four weeks is that everyone starts to sell good things to raise cash for the show.  By the time the show rolls around, I'll be broke! :)

I know what you mean, I am going to keep my SOS $$$ locked in a box and hidden until the show so I have some to bring with me! :D

I've seen several nice helmets being sold recently, too.

I have a table and will be there Wednesday - Saturday night with some killer WWII - Korean War Airborne and Elite Unit items. Stop by and say hi!

Top Dollar paid for Korean War UNPFK - UNPIK, Airborne Ranger Infantry Company, 187th and 8081st items. If you have anything from those units please bring them by my table.

Thanks and see you all in a few weeks!

Matt

You know...every year this gets so much hype, every year I regret not being able to go, until every year you guys report back that the EGA pickings are slim, prices are high, and reproduction crap is everywhere. Not sure if you

What I have gathered over the years, however, is stuff tends to go cheap online during that weekend so, since the Marine Corps once again has plans for me that weekend...all of you, go, go, goooooo....and stay off the Internet on your dang smart phones while you're there...leave the auctions to the rest of us
