agate hunter Posted February 15, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 15, 2014 Hey everyone, found some interesting MP collar disks today. Got two sets (from the same seller). One set looks to be a regular MP set from the 1950s, but the other set, which is numbered and I believe would be for Company B, 701st MP Battalion, has an interesting make to it. Never have seen any with the Asian writing and "National Decoration Company" on the rear. Looked that up and it may be from China? Don't know why we'd have Chinese made collar discs though. If anyone can shed some light as to the origin of these disks and possible era as well that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

agate hunter Posted February 15, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted February 15, 2014 Wow, thanks for the link. Looks like they had some interesting history while serving in China, especially B Company. I'd guess that these discs date from their time over there between 1946-48 then?
tredhed2 Posted February 15, 2014 Share #7 Posted February 15, 2014 Since the entire battalion was gone by early 1949, that would be a good likelihood. Nice find.
lamarhooten Posted November 16, 2015 Share #8 Posted November 16, 2015 Nice set of collar disks! Can't be to many of those kicking around! All you need now is the 701st MP rooster patch to go with them and you will have a great display!
