GeneralLucas Posted February 6, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 6, 2014 This button displays the letters U S placed between the stars and was produced by Scovill Mfg and Henry V. Allien Co. Although many were produced by these two companies, they found that the Marine Corp was not going to let the buttons be officially adopted in 1891. So it appears after the Span Am War, these buttons were never seen on uniforms again. This example was made by Allien Co.

dag Posted February 8, 2014 Share #3 Posted February 8, 2014 Thanks for posting. This is Albert's MC-16. Per Albert: "A letter dated May 11, 1891, in the Scovill files, indicates that this button, though proposed, was never adopted."
