Actually I wanted to continue the T28 project but a friend asked me to help a bit with some figures he aquired recently. It's a 4 figure set of 1/35 U.S. Rangers.

Dragon's "Premium Edition" has additional parts like etched straps, additional heads and super detailed equipment and weapons.

Looking forward to build and paint these together with you. I'm sure I will learn much from the USMF modeler's community.

Great looking model kit, I will have to look for one for my D-Day display.

Yes, be sure to get you one before they are outsold (or get more expensive). From what I have seen on ebay this premium edit seems to get harder to come by (over here). Looking forward to see your display as well!

Hi Lars

The cheapest I could find them selling for was £8.99, that's $14.89,

HI Dave,

nearly the same here in Germany; 1 auction left: 12 Euros plus shipping.

@ Bob, no unfortunately not. But what did we all learn at the Military Academy? Right: proper preparation and prior planning prevents pi** poor performance ;-)

@ Johan & doyler: C'mon, why not making them alive???

So this is the main sprue, as mentioned before very detailed figures.

Primer. After purchasing my first airbrush I wasted a lot of money for "model making primer". Somewhere I read that car paint primer works just as good as the modeler's stuff. That's how it is, you can save a lot of money.

At the latest when the primer has dried completely, it's time to stop groping (term?) the figures. Depicted are two possible ways of preparing the figures for further painting. I glue them on bottle tops or drill small holes to attach toothpicks.

Painting skin was a nerve-wrecking procedure for me until I found a rather easy way to achieve acceptable results. (I think I have posted that procedure elsewhere here once). Start with painting heads and hands with Vallejo 70927 "Dark Flesh" ACRYLIC! paint!.
