Proud Kraut Posted January 29, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2014 Actually I wanted to continue the T28 project but a friend asked me to help a bit with some figures he aquired recently. It's a 4 figure set of 1/35 U.S. Rangers.

Yes, be sure to get you one before they are outsold (or get more expensive). From what I have seen on ebay this premium edit seems to get harder to come by (over here). Looking forward to see your display as well! Lars

Proud Kraut Posted January 30, 2014 Author Share #17 Posted January 30, 2014 @ Bob, no unfortunately not. But what did we all learn at the Military Academy? Right: proper preparation and prior planning prevents pi** poor performance ;-) @ Johan & doyler: C'mon, why not making them alive??? So this is the main sprue, as mentioned before very detailed figures.
Proud Kraut Posted January 30, 2014 Author Share #18 Posted January 30, 2014 Usually I assemble the body and heads of the figures before painting them with primer.

Proud Kraut Posted February 1, 2014 Author Share #21 Posted February 1, 2014 Thank you guys! Although it's a "premium edition" I had to use quite a lot of putty after assembling the bodies.
Proud Kraut Posted February 1, 2014 Author Share #22 Posted February 1, 2014 Primer. After purchasing my first airbrush I wasted a lot of money for "model making primer". Somewhere I read that car paint primer works just as good as the modeler's stuff. That's how it is, you can save a lot of money.
Proud Kraut Posted February 1, 2014 Author Share #23 Posted February 1, 2014 Do not try to undercoat the models with one run. You'll achieve better results with multiple fine layers.
Proud Kraut Posted February 1, 2014 Author Share #24 Posted February 1, 2014 At the latest when the primer has dried completely, it's time to stop groping (term?) the figures. Depicted are two possible ways of preparing the figures for further painting. I glue them on bottle tops or drill small holes to attach toothpicks. Proud Kraut Posted February 1, 2014 Author Share #25 Posted February 1, 2014 Painting skin was a nerve-wrecking procedure for me until I found a rather easy way to achieve acceptable results. (I think I have posted that procedure elsewhere here once). Start with painting heads and hands with Vallejo 70927 "Dark Flesh" ACRYLIC! paint!.
