shrapneldude Posted February 2, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2014 Got this today, and with the help of a good buddy and a seven year-old post on this forum, was able to get some info on it. Photos first. World War II dated Ike jacket with 106th Infantry Division "combat" patch and a gorgeous German made 7th Army patch. It's got 3rd Infantry "Old Guard" Distinctive Insignia pinbacks on the lapels and Infantry / US collar brass, plus a CIB and ribbons, and the coolest part, the Old Guard leather shoulder strap. shrapneldude Posted February 2, 2014 Author Share #2 Posted February 2, 2014 These cockade DI's are probably the neatest looking DI's of all the different distinctive insignia the Army has ever come up with in my opinion.

shrapneldude Posted February 2, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted February 2, 2014 Lot going on with this particular Ike - but one of the more interesting thing when comparing it to the the other Old Guard / 106th Div Combat Replacement uniforms posted on the forum was that those uniforms all had custom sewn ribbons, while this one has pinback ribbons. That is, until I found this stuff in the pockets.

All with nearly identical set-ups, although it looks like my guy stayed on during the occupation with 7th Army
