I tried for this badge on eBay three days ago but was outbid. The USS Solace was an unarmed hospital ship at Pearl Harbor during the attack on December 7, 1941. Per a Wikipedia write up, "The Japanese Honoring the rules of the Geneva Convention, the attacking Japanese aircraft did not hit Solace due to her white paint and red crosses. She was one of the few ships not damaged during the attack." Would you believe that this morning at the flea market I was offered a pair of 8 x 10 black and white period photographs of the USS Solace and the second photograph showed a grouping of uniformed Naval Officers seated on the deck of the USS Solace with all of their names written on the back. I didn't buy the photos as the seller wanted a little too much money for them however had I been successful in obtaining this badge I would have made the purchase.

Just received this NAS South Weymouth Police badge and patch today. The badge is very nicely made but is unmarked.

Here is a recent pick up. A USS John C. Stennis Brig badge. I really like this one. The Stennis was my last ship I served on.

This badge is dated 1996 which is just after her commissioning date.

Love this badge. I have about 150 MAA-Shore Patrol-Police Petty Officer badges in my collection. I especially like Shore Patrol and Brig/Corrections badges.

2) Very Rare, Naval Station Pearl Harbor “Permanent” Shore Patrol Badge

3) Very Rare, USS Lexington Mess Deck MAA badge, unique badge shape

4) Very Rare, CBs Chief Master At Arms engraved in very unique “Philippine’s style”

5) Very Rare, Jeweler made “EM Club” CMAA, marked Silver and unidentified jeweler mark

6) Very Rare, Shore Patrol Investigator, Panama Canal Zone?

7) Shop made/Tender made, Naval Amphib. Base, Brig Chaser

8) Rare, combination Police Petty Officer and Master At Arms badge

You have an incredible collection! I have followed this thread for years and I never tire of reviewing old posts and the updates. I am glad to have my badge from my time as a corrections specialist from my last duty station.

We just picked this badge up today. Would appreciate any onfo you have on it.  I was able to find it dates between the 1930s and 1949. Assuming it is Navy WWII.

Im wondering if my assumption is correct, is it rare, value?

i did post this badge im another section before I discovered this thread.

Thanks for your help.

Found this recently. A re-purposed Navy MAA badge.

CUB-7 I believe is a WW2 Seabee unit. I’m unsure of the acronym on the overlay. Any thoughts?

Any info on CUB-7 or the ACEPD?

Chris

Likely another Philippines made badge, chief police petty officer. I'm thinking this was produced in 1946-47 based on the history of ports visited by the Guadalupe.

A few from my collection. I'm selling my collection. The children aren't interested in my USN "stuff" and I'm done publishing my reference books. A couple a week will be on evil bay from now until Christmas. Thanks for the input on this thread.

Here's wishing good collecting to every USMF member.

Sorry to see a fellow Navy rate collector go Dan. Thanks for remembering Stacey, Helvey and Tucker. Navy rate collectors really owe a lot to those men. Fair seas.
