Unidentified 5th/7th Corps Spanish American War Badge

I picked up this badge a few weeks ago and haven't been able to identify it. When I first saw it, it reminded me of a SpanAm era 5th Corps badge, but it has the colors of a 7th Corps badge. This is a large piece measuring 2.25 inches in diameter. Anyone have any ideas about this?

I don't know what it was used for, but it is the design is the obsolete shoulder sleeve insignia for the 85th Division (Training) of the US Army Reserve. That design was worn from the 1970's until the old 85th Infantry Division SSI was readopted. It is certainly not from the Span/Am War.

The fact that this piece has a screwback fastener is interesting for such a late period piece. I'd take a guess that this might have been used for some sort of presentation piece instead of glue? Seems to be unusual for this period to have a screwback. Not impossible of course. I agree on the 85th Division id.

It's 85th "Training" we used to work around these folks on a pretty regular basis and they wore a lot of pocket hangers and ID tags displaying their parches.

I don't think this is Spanish American War V Corps Headquarters at all. Attached is an example of an original Spanish American War V Corps, 1st Division crest design.--Ray

It has already been established back in Jan. in Post #2 that it is not a Span-Am unit insigna.
