Hello! I have learned here a lot about metal ranks badges (dates, colours, materials, designs, catch types...) but I don´t know nothing about embroidered badges...can you tell me something about this Captain bars I have? Is embroidered on black felp but I don´t know the era or nothing more about the use of this kind of rank badges...Thanks!!

Hi.

 

I believe those are Navy Lieutenant bars (similar also to USMC Captain bars - but different from Army Captain bars).  And that makes sense that they would be on black to match USN uniforms.

Really? You don´t think is too large for a Navy rank badge?...and the bars are togheter...Is one captain bar, not two lieutenant bars..
