Picked this one up a while back. I was immediately drawn to it being a 'Fighter Group' lot, but it also hit me right as I am really into photos from the period. This is one of the neatest scrapbooks I have ever seen, with a great heavy wooden cover and nicely 'branded' type cover, filled with pretty good photos and some neat content mailed home, but the illustrations and set up are really what set it apart. Looks like it was made by his 'girl back home. Couple of loose pieces included and an original 20th FG unit history "King's Cliffe".

Pictures sent home by Johnny in the folder he put them in. Check out the last sentence: By this time you should have learned to read the backs of the pictures. !!

Thanks guys. Several loose photos came with it, including these two 8 x 10 77th FS formation photos. I have some others that I will put up when I get a chance.

Fantastic stuff! Glad you got it together before someone else found it photo by photo. That shows a nice progression of aircraft and markings for the 20th FG and the connection to the vet is icing on the cake :)

Wonderful group !

You must have a private archive ;)

Ha! B)

We are putting our house up for sale so I have been packing some things up that I have had on display or just out and accessible to me. Decided it was the perfect time to document some of the items as well as finally share on here as well.

It's funny, because I only know about 3 or 4 people that get excited about this stuff and have really taken the time to look at it and take it in like all of us would. Without them, it's just some objects that you yourself look at, cherrish, and 'know' you have. It's nice to share it with people who appreciate it just as much as you do.
