I feel part of the job of a moderator is to set posting standards and insure the accuracy of posts. I dont know what else to say. I am not singling you out. My post was a suggestion to improve the accuracy and quality of your posts in the future. It is not a personal attack.

A GREAT HISTORICAL COLLECTION!
The question everyone is wondering: How did you acquire all the uniforms being displayed?

i'm new here, so maybe i'm missing something. i do understand the importance of differentiating real from repro, or representational. but this collection is magnificent. if a couple of the ribbon bars are not original to the uniform, it does not detract from the collection in the least.

shouldn't the brevet ribbbon come directly after the 2 MOH's, and before the dsm's?

Back in the days the DSM's ranked higher than the Brevet Medal. You can even see on his full size medals this placement.
Thanks for looking. I am glad I had something for you to enjoy.

In North Africia. AT the beginning of the North Africian Campaign General Mark Clark and General Lemnitzer went by sub to North Africia. In a nut shell a misunderstanding of the Legion of merit allowed 60 officer to be awarded the Officer, Legion of Merit to Americans. Lemnitzer refused to give it back at the request of President Roosevelt. If you need more details let me know. Thanks for looking.

I don't collect uniforms and admit to knowing little of the various awards one can be given...that said, General Vessey's ribbon bar looks outstanding and very impressive! Thanks for posting the pictures.

I doubt that Chris or any member of this forum would post an item to purposefully misrepresent its authenticity. If I am not mistaken, the forum was designed to educate, to share and to preserve our country’s military contribution. For me it has been a joy to view this site on a daily basis, providing me with information and an opportunity to view items that I would never be able to see. The knowledge that the membership has to offer is amazing, and if anyone needs information post haste….. it is better than Google for there is immediate interaction! To Chris and everyone, all I can say is Mahalo for taking the time and effort to share and display your collecting interests. Please let us not get into pissing contests; it does no good for this forum and may prevent members to share their prized collections!

Why is it so secretive about how you acquired such a fine collection?

Thank you for your kind words. Thank you for enjoying what I have posted in this Forum. You are correct. I have not, nor will I, post anything or misrepresent its authenticity. That would be the death of a collector. As I have mentioned numerous times as well, all I try to provide is the best of the best for everone to ENJOY!!!! This Forum allows an oppurtunity to see and post what can not otherwise be enjoyed. I like the fact that even parties from outside our country borders enjoy. So thank you again.
