The following picture is a bit of a puzzle-the sword looks like a generals sword {Civil War Era} but I have never seen a belt buckle like that before!  Could this be a Milita or prehaps a org like a Freemasons? Be gald to hear any comments on ID!

Agreed.... definitely not anything like GAR, SUV, or USWV.

 

Some sort of fraternal organization. If someone recognizes the badge, maybe we can pinpoint it.

That's a Knights Templar uniform with a Masonic medal.
