Mitter2k1 Posted December 15, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2013 I have a set of 1st Lt. alpha's that I got a couple of months back and it was missing the cover. So I went the cheapest route and bought a garrison cap and an officers cap device. I only recently realized that it needed a rank device. So here is my question, what size is the rank device for the garrison cover? Is it shirt sized or coat sized or something completely different? Also, where is the device supposed to be placed? I can't find anything that shows the measurements for this. I guess I'm not googling it hard enough. Thanks, Mike
Bob Hudson Posted December 15, 2013 Share #2 Posted December 15, 2013 Here's the info - it's the same size rank worn on the collar:
Mitter2k1 Posted December 15, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted December 15, 2013 BINGO! I looked all over for that and I guess I wasn't doing it correctly or completely over looked it. Thanks, Mike
Bob Hudson Posted December 15, 2013 Share #4 Posted December 15, 2013 BINGO! I looked all over for that and I guess I wasn't doing it correctly or completely over looked it. Thanks, Mike I have several charts that were handed out to Marine officers during training and even they did not show this. I finally dug out a small pocket-sized book on uniform wear and insignia placement.
Mitter2k1 Posted December 15, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted December 15, 2013 That is odd they didn't include that on the charts. Can I ask where I can get a copy of that book you have? I think it would prove to be very handy. Thanks again, Mike
Bob Hudson Posted December 15, 2013 Share #6 Posted December 15, 2013 You can buy it here for about $12: http://www.marineshop.net/browse.cfm/look-sharp!-marine-uniform-guide-(spiral-bound)/4,5239.html
