248th Aero Squadron badge / pin

Picked this up earlier this year. It is a nice French made pin for the 248th Aero Squadron. One of the plan Enlisted man type. A typical pin back rather then the screw post type.

The flash kind of washed out the photo of the front. It is mostly black but the high spots have been rubed off. You don't see to many real Aero Squadron badges under $1k anymore!

Very nice. Were these made and worn during the war, or immediately after? I'd love to find something like that, but $1k is WAY out of my range!

These were made and worn in France during the war. The officers enameled silver are the ones that typically go over a thousand dollars this type enlisted usually around half that. These enlisted man versions are no where near as nice but still neat to find.
