In WWII commander of the 8th Tank Battalion Dec 22, 1944).
Assistant Division Commander of the 4th Infantry Division in Viet Nam.

Writer of "He rode up front for Patton"; a great account about the 4th Armored Division.

Photo taken I think at AIT Fort Polk, note the Inf Blue scarf, basic tranees didn't pose with branch scarfs as far as I can tell.
