First Team Posted November 16, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2013 Can anyone identify these DI's which were removed from the lapels of an Ike Jacket. Thank you in advance for any info.
irish Posted November 16, 2013 Share #2 Posted November 16, 2013 They appear to read Fidele, if that is the case than these are for the 104th recon Co. And a very nice find

firefighter Posted November 16, 2013 Share #5 Posted November 16, 2013 Very nice.If i remember right I think the metal theater made ones are pretty scarce.Never seen a matched, set let a lone a single, theater made cloth version before.Very cool.As said, to bad these were removed.Would love to have seen the whole jacket.Maybe this these were the only salvageable items from the jacket? First Team Posted November 16, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted November 16, 2013 I am grateful for the responses. As always the knowledge from the Forum members is awe inspiring. Yes the DI's did come with a 104th Division SSI but the seller could not provide any info on them. After considerable research it finally hit me that the Forum might have some ideas. Wow....thank you!!
carbinephalen Posted November 17, 2013 Share #7 Posted November 17, 2013 WHY??????....... .......Do sellers remove patches?
patchguy Posted November 17, 2013 Share #8 Posted November 17, 2013 This Ike jacket sold less than 2 months ago on ebay... Think it went about $875... Beautiful patch and 2 cloth DIs. If it's the same one, why would buyer/seller break it up? Absolutely nuts.

B229 Posted November 17, 2013 Share #10 Posted November 17, 2013 WHY??????....... .......Do sellers remove patches? That's easy to figure out: $$$$$$$$$$$$ Or at least they think that.
Timberwolf Posted November 18, 2013 Share #11 Posted November 18, 2013 I remember seeing this jacket on ebay before. I didn't know what to think of it as I'm not a patch guy. I remember the seller had some other WWI patches that didn't look very good, which is why I didn't even attempt to place a bid.
