ehrentitle Posted November 10, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 10, 2013 Recently I purchased a massive lot of ephemera (paper items) just to get one rare early 1930s Pershing Rifles certificate. Within that lot was a large collection of certificates and letters documenting the career of a Vietnam Era Navy Submarine Sonar Technician 1st Class. It included his Submarine Course certificate, Navy Good Conduct Certificate, and documents from more than a dozen Navy professional courses. Most interesting are three citations. One is from 1966 for assistance in recovering a lost nuclear weapon and one is from 1972 for participation in a submarine surfacing at the North Pole. Since the Navy not within the core areas that I collect I have no feel for the rarity or value of these documents. I have the sense that this is something that does not come along every day, but would appreciate you comments on this interesting group of documents.
