GTMO base tag

Here is a license plate for the Naval Station on Guantanamo Bay Cuba. I believe this tag is from the 1950s. It looks as though it has been in a fire though. It appears to have smoke and soot on the right side and the soot diminishes on the left side. You can also see were a previous owner tried to clean the plate right next to the number "1". Pretty neat item that I could not pass up. Thanks for looking.

I for one think its pretty neat. it would be a cool display to try and get an army plate from every OCONUS base, now that would be a project.

Very cool.Military vehicle tags are getting harder to find.Is 1960 the tag number or the date?

I believe the "1960" is the tag number, and this tag is from the 1950s-1960s according to the linked website.

Last time I was there in the mid 90's there was a 1947 CJ3B jeep that still had it's Navy dash tags and military plates in use on the base.

Found another unusual tag today. This one is from the Panama Canal Zone. It is dated 1944-45. I believe this one has been restored by a previous owner. Paint looks fresh and hand painted. I also believe the colors are wrong. Here is a pic of my tag and one I found online for comparison.
