Hello, we have added a new section for US Militaria of WWI.

Feel free to post uniforms, hats, personal items, etc.

We do ask that everyone continue to post Field Gear in the normal Field Gear section.

Thanks,

RC

We are also asking that any steel helmets continue to be posted in the STEEL & KEVLAR HELMETS forum.

Thanks,

RC

Thanks,

Hi, right here: http://www.usmilitar...i-us-militaria/

It was a last minute addition to our "19th Century Militaria" section. Yes, we know it's not 19th Century but that's where it's going for now. B)

Thanks for the kind words, we hope everyone enjoys it and will share items from their collections with us.

It's telling me I don't have permission to view it. Can I be added please?
Thanks,
Mike M

Hi,

Let me see what is going on.

Can you see any of the other 19th Century sections?

Interesting, the permissions should allow you to see it. As a matter of fact this thread is in the WWI section.

I am wondering if it is your mobile device?

Unfortunately no. They don't show up and I just see replies to blank topics. I'm still having issues with some of the other areas too. I wonder if maybe it's something to do with tapatalk on this new phone. I've noticed some glitchy/laggy behavior. Maybe I'll try running it through the Internet instead of the app.
Thanks,
Mike M.

Ok, I think that is the issue. I do not think it's on the forum end.

It is the app. I can see it when I login on the Web version.

I can see it when using the Internet, so the app is having an issue. Thanks for looking into this.

I'm able to see the WWI section but not the others. I think I came up with a quick fix for those using the app. I logged in on my computer and subscribed to the topic WWI US Militaria. When I opened the app, I could go to my subscribed threads and the WWI section is there minus everything else that was listed. It's not perfect, but it works. So anyone else with this issue can do this until the issue with the app is corrected.
Thanks,
Mike M.

In the future will there be subsections that will be directly linked to the topic with main categories broken down? Like WWI and then you could select helmets, uniforms etc. Or are helmets and field gear going to remain in the areas they are currently? Either way I'm happy with this as it is. I wasn't sure if that was the ultimate goal of these new areas.
Keep up the good work,
Mike M.

We're going to work on defining it better as we have time. But medals, helmets, and weapons will remain in their respective sections. Personal items, uniforms, boots, etc can be posted in here.

Our main goal is to allow these items to be seen under one roof as it were, but with as few exceptions as possible; we don't want to confuse anyone. Pre-1910 field equipment can be posted in the various 19th Century subforums however. We don't want to make it too complicated so other than a few additions I don't think we will be dividing it up into sections specifically for uniforms, I'm afraid if we did that it might be too hard for everyone to find new threads.

I understand what you are saying. I love this as it is since it allows me to quickly access my main interests. The search feature is my biggest trouble area but I recently saw your post and I'm going to start using that method to find what I'm looking for.
On another note, a feature that I recently noticed on another forum allows the OP to tag certain terms, up to 10 total, to their thread. Just for example the could use "M1910" or "haversack". What is your thoughts on allowing members to do that and what would it take to incorporate into the forum?
Thanks,
Mike M.
