pchepurko Posted October 25, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 25, 2013 I was given these last night. I am not sure what I have or if any of these are rare or valuable. I was told I could keep them or trash them. I will not trash them, however I may sell them and donate the money to the Marine Corps League for the wounded program. Please take a look and let me know if there is anything of value here. Thanks.

pchepurko Posted October 25, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted October 25, 2013 The gunner wings are marked sterling and have a great patina on them.
cutiger83 Posted October 25, 2013 Share #6 Posted October 25, 2013 Looks like you have a mix of collar disks in post #1 and post #2. If you can look at the back and construction of them, this thread might give you some help in determining the age. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/185866-history-of-the-collar-disk/ ...Kat
cutiger83 Posted October 25, 2013 Share #7 Posted October 25, 2013 Also, can you show the backs of the officer's insignia and shooting badges? If they are hallmarked, pin back, sterling, etc, then that can make a difference in the value. ...Kat
pchepurko Posted October 25, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted October 25, 2013 The USMC shooting badge is unmarked. The shooting badge with one bar s marked N sterling and the bar is unmarked. The shooting badge with three bars is unmarked, but two of the bars are marked sterling. Which are the officer insignia?
cutiger83 Posted October 25, 2013 Share #9 Posted October 25, 2013 The officer's insignia looks like the enlisted collar disk but without the round disk. The officer's insignia is the bottom row on post #1 and part of the top row in post #4. ...Kat
atb Posted October 25, 2013 Share #10 Posted October 25, 2013 I think several of the small ones at the bottom of post #1 are the branch devices seperated from enlisted disks.

I believe you may be correct. Now that I look closer, they are small and look to be the same size as the ones on the disk. Thanks for catching that! ....Kat
Grant S. Posted October 25, 2013 Share #12 Posted October 25, 2013 First picture second row second device looks like WWI H Troop, 7th Cavalry. That might be worth something extra. The collar discs with the raised edge and pebbled pattern are WWI so they are worth a little more. Medals are always worth something. Second picture bottom row second item looks British because of the King's Crown on top, but I can't read the letters. The DUIs are all nice but generally not worth a lot. I don't have them all memorized but since everything else in the collection appears WWII or earlier I'd bet the DUIs are too. Fourth picture second row second item - I don't know what that is! Another option would be donating them to a museum, but if you must sell, give us a crack at them first.
