Saturday January 9th, the National UDT/SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce, Florida will hold its 28th annual muster.
The Muster is an annual Veterans Day Weekend gathering/reunion for SEALs, UDTs, NCDUs, and Scouts and Raiders, which is open to the public. This year has a special spotlight on the WWII UDTs, NCDUs, and Scouts and Raiders. The museum is in Fort Pierce, because Fort Pierce was one of the premier naval amphibious training bases in WWII, and was one of the main stateside bases for training leading up to the Normandy invasion. Established in 1943, the base was also the birth place of the UDTs (Underwater Demolition Teams), which are the predecessors to the modern SEAL.
This years muster will include:
SEAL Parachute demonstrations
ADM William H. McRaven, Commander USSOCOM
Medal of Honor recipients Tom Norris and Michael Thornton
and Florida US Congressman Patrick Murphy
