Duensing, who was born in 1911, served in WWII and Korea and after 30 years retired in 1960 as a Major. He died in 2005. Does the image look to be Korean era? jeremiahcable Posted January 19, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 19, 2007 Bill is correct about the division insignia being dropped in '47. That is a very neat photo for a couple of reasons. Shows the short billed HBT cap with a set of collar size captain's bars on it for identification.....obviously not in combat! Also note that the captain is wearing the correct navy/marine style officer's shirt while the young lieutenant is wearing an army style officer's shirt. The rectangular pocket flap is a dead give away on this. Not the first image I have seen of this but they are very neat to see. Of course the 4th MarDiv patches are killer! Thanks for sharing Bob!
