robinb Posted September 1, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2013 Made of cardboard and a web handle. I assume these were made for war factory workers?
strawberry 9 Posted September 1, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2013 Cool! I love home front items. How about a pic of the inside.
robinb Posted September 1, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted September 1, 2013 The inside is just bare cardboard. Not really photo worthy. I don't know what the rectangular hole in the side is about. It's factory made and not cut in by an owner.
Bodes Posted February 18, 2017 Share #4 Posted February 18, 2017 The rectangular cut out was for putting a name plate into.....I ran into one of these boxes in an antique store yesterday...Pretty decent condition...No holes or flaking of the cardboard, but some staining....Had a metal thermos with it, but don't know how old it was....Price was $125, which was little rich for my blood.....Interesting item none the less...Bodes
Mr.Jerry Posted February 20, 2017 Share #5 Posted February 20, 2017 Neat piece and the first have seen! Makes sense with the use of metal being limited.
