Sgt. Super? Why that in itself was worth the trip.

Great finds!

What is the patch in the photo of the M1926 coat?

Great finds!

What is the patch in the photo of the M1926 coat?

Here's a scanned copy of the picture. Hard to tell with the patch, but I was thinking it looked like the 29th Infantry Division. But his DIs look like the 26th Infantry regiment, which I believe was with the 1st Infantry Division. If anyone has a clue as to the deal with his insignia, feel free to comment.

Also forgot to post some paper items, insignia, and WWI pants that I got. Got lots of military history books too. All in all a great flea market.

Great photo, I can't tell the patch offhand since it isn't visible enough for me.

I do seem to recall that the khaki's were only authorized in overseas territories such as Hawaii and the Philippines, and perhaps the Canal Zone?

I posted the pic on this thread: http://www.usmilitar...-3#entry1441474

and thanks to forum member patches, it looks like this soldier was with the 35th Infantry Regiment, 24th Inf. Div.

Also as for the uniforms only being used overseas, forum member robinb has a khaki EM service coat from a soldier in the 249th Coast Artillery Regiment (Oregon National Guard) (I posted the pic on the above thread). The 249th CA stayed stateside, so I'm not so sure the uniform was for overseas tropical areas only.
