Hello,

Anyone Know what SSI the 250th Forward Surgical Team (Abn) wears? I think they are part of the 62nd Medical Bde. Do they wear that SSI and if so an Airborne Tab?

Thanks

They do wear the 62d Med Bde SSI with an Airborne Tab.
Before the 62d Med Gp became Brigade, they wore the FOSCOM SSI w/ABN Tab

Hi,

I don't know where you got the info on that I Corps patch.
When I visited the unit back in 2004 the Bde CSM took me to their "history room" and confirmed that the unit wore the FORSCOM patch before the Brigade patch... He showed me pictures of FST guys wearing it with the ABN tab.
That is where I got the info from.

Cheers,

Pascal

How far back did the unit wear the Forscom SSI?

The I corps info I show goes back to a 1992 reference that I have from the unit's early stages of it;s "first life" when it was called the 250th Med Detachment.

It was my understanding that the Airborne element was stood down for a couple of years then activated again as the 250th FST.

If you can give me the dates of wear of Forscom SSI (along with which F&O was worn) I can update the sheet.

Thanks

They wore the FORSCOM SSI from Desert Storm (maybe before that too), all the way till the Bde SSI was approved 16 oct 2001.
The F&O was the blue and yellow one, and the DUI was the 62d Med Gp.

Thanks for the info - I will revise the sheets and post for comments.

For some reason I was thinking they are currently wearing the DUI of the 47th Combat Support Hospital

I really don't know what they wear today, but the DI displayed on your sheet is neither the 47th CSH, nor the 58th Med Bn but the 56th Med Bn which they did not wear either.
I apologize if it says 56th though - I am on a mobile device and it looks like 58th

Hope this helps

After receiving some additional information from fellow Forum members and doing a little more research I now submit the revised sheet for the insignia combinations of the 250th Med Det/Co.
