mmerc20 Posted July 20, 2013 Share #1 Posted July 20, 2013 This is a follow up post to this thread http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/182554-another-17th-airborne-ike-interesting-ribbons/ felt would be better posted here. I wanted to show some photos of a 100% authentic paratrooper collar disc. This is not a repro as it came on the uniform posted in the link from the family. I wanted to break one down and post some pics so everyone could see what an original example looks like. First, there are some extremely fine file marks on the edge of the parachute so it appears to have been made from a standard set of jump wings. It is very hard to tell though and there are no maker marks or partial maker marks that can be seen. The threaded stud is soldered very cleanly on the parachute. The stud has the standard square key to position it in the disc so it doesn't spin. They are really nice and thought it would help everyone to see what one looks like.
