hhbooker2 Posted April 8, 2008 Share #1 Posted April 8, 2008 "GREETINGS & SALUTATIONS!" In 1942 Whitman Publishing Co., published "FIGHTINGS SHIPS OF THE U.S.A." The bottom read "Tydol Book of Navy Stamps." They show in stamps the ships of the United States Navy, the book is printed with a blank space to receive a stamp. Tydol-Veedol Gasoline & Motor Oil sponsered this to give to their customers during the Second World War, probably a stamps each time the filled up the gas tank of their automobile? There were a total of forty stamps, thus 40 trips to the filling station, I reckon? ENJOY!
